Terms of Service

These Terms govern your access to and use of 1Apprentice (the "Service"), operated from Australia. By creating an account or using the Service you agree to these Terms.

1. Who we are

1Apprentice is a job-matching platform that connects Australian apprentices with employers. We don't employ apprentices, take a cut of wages, or act as an employment agency.

2. Account eligibility

• You must be at least 15 years old to create an account.
• Apprentices must be legally entitled to work in Australia.
• Employers must provide a valid Australian Business Number (ABN) and pass our manual review.
• One person, one account. Don't share login credentials or operate multiple accounts.

3. Listings and applications

Employers are solely responsible for the accuracy and lawfulness of their job listings. Apprentices are solely responsible for the accuracy of their profile, applications, and any documents they upload. We reserve the right to remove any content that breaches these Terms or applicable law.

4. Conduct

You must not use the Service to:

• Post discriminatory, misleading, fraudulent, or unlawful content.
• Harass, threaten, or impersonate other users.
• Spam, scrape, or circumvent rate limits.
• Solicit users off-platform for purposes outside legitimate apprenticeship recruitment.

5. Verification

Employer ABNs are checked against the Australian Business Register before approval. Apprenticeship histories are user-supplied and may be self-verified through optional features; we don't independently confirm them.

The apprentice Verified badge means 1Apprentice has reviewed the apprentice's government ID and work-rights documents. This is a document review, not an official government check. Employers remain solely responsible for completing their own right-to-work checks (for example, a VEVO check for visa holders) before hiring anyone.

6. Content ownership and licence

You retain ownership of content you upload (resumes, portfolio photos, listing text). By uploading you grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to host, display, and transmit it to other users for the purpose of operating the Service.

7. Communications

We send transactional emails about your account and activity. You can opt out of non-essential emails in your profile or via the unsubscribe link in any email footer.

8. Privacy

We handle personal information in line with the Australian Privacy Principles. See our Privacy Policy for full detail.

9. Termination

You may delete your account at any time from your profile page. We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms, with notice where reasonable.

10. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that any job will result in employment, or that any applicant will receive a response. We are not responsible for the conduct of employers or apprentices on or off the platform.

11. Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by Australian law, our total aggregate liability arising from your use of the Service is limited to AUD $100. Nothing in these Terms limits any non-excludable rights under the Australian Consumer Law.

12. Changes

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be notified via email or an in-app notice; continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.

13. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of Victoria, Australia. Disputes will be heard in the courts of Victoria.
